What You'll get to Do:
We are seeking a DevOPS engineer to help us develop, build, and deploy full stack systems for our customer's advanced collection systems. In addition to delivering the current version of the systems, you will get to help shape and design the next generation systems. We are looking for someone interested in continuous improvement, both in the products that we deliver and the tools that we use in-house.
You will work with a team of friendly, smart, professional, and proactive engineers and computer scientists. This job has opportunities to travel domestically and internationally. Bring your best practices and join this truly great team!
**This position requires to be in Office 100%, located in Sterling VA**
Responsibilities:
Build and deploy physical and virtualized systems to customer locations
Provide continuous integration support for deployed systems to ensure that they are up to date.
Integrate 3rd party soft ware into our systems
Manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) at the platform and application layers
Design the next generation of systems and help migrate from RHEL7 to RHEL8
Maintain the local representative systems to mirror the deployed customer's systems
Assist developers with building and installing RPMs and containers
Qualifications:
Required:
Demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team, as well as independently
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team building and interfacing with the customer
5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
Innovative ideas for the design of the next generation system
Strong Linux administration experience, including package management, security hardening, kickstart, and virtualization
Writing and maintaining IaC for system configuration management
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Soft ware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field. (equivalency of a degree and work experience will also be considered)
Active TS//SCI clearance.
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certificati on (Security+ CE or bett er)
Desired:
Working within an Agile Framework
Building and deploying Docker and/or Kubernetes
Familiarity with the Cisco IOS or NXOS
Building RPMs within the RedHat architecture (spec fi les, Koji, Tito)
Familiarity with Git commands
Experience writing Puppet modules
