Description

Summary:
The OS Platform Engineer II includes initial design and implementation of tactical solutions, drive the resolution and root cause analysis of intermediate issues, documenting the findings, and retrofitting solutions when identified.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Articulates the business value and impact of technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues.
  • Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue.
  • Responds to requests from individual users.
  • Delivers process documentation for small-to medium-scale projects.
  • Is often consulted by peers and seen as the informal leader on tactical problems.
  • Performs all technical program tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide Level 1 & 2 support for the corporate Unix and Linux environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree
  • 5+ years of OS Platform experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong project and coordination skills
  • Strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions
