Job Summary:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analysing business needs and processes to develop and implement efficient technology solutions. This role acts as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure system functionality aligns with business goals. Key responsibilities include requirements gathering, functional documentation, UAT facilitation, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders.
  • Analyse user needs, workflows, procedures, and problems to propose system enhancements or automation.
  • Translate business needs into detailed documentation including use cases, data models, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Evaluate existing systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Project & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Project Managers to track progress, risks, and status updates.
  • Coordinate project activities across development, QA, business users, vendors, and consultants.
  • Provide level-of-effort estimations for analysis, development, and QA phases.
  • Document lessons learned and support project retrospectives.
  • System Design & Implementation
  • Create conceptual/logical system designs and data models.
  • Develop and implement UAT test plans and facilitate UAT sessions.
  • Support system configuration, workflow diagrams, and integration logic as needed.
  • Participate in software selection and evaluation for packaged solutions.
  • Documentation & Support
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, user guides, and support manuals.
  • Provide training materials and lead training sessions for end users and IT teams.
  • Create reports and dashboards from business data; assist developers with data modeling or dataset creation.
  • Operational Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide post-implementation support, including issue resolution and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with DBAs and developers to investigate and resolve production issues.
  • Evaluate the impact of system changes on business processes and operations.
  • Assist in the development and administration of change control procedures.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure alignment with corporate IT security policies and change management standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and proper documentation of all security incidents or risks.
  • Comply with audit requirements and data protection policies.
Qualifications
  • Education
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience within the healthcare domain is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in client-server applications and relational database environments.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and logical data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with SDLC, change management, and QA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools: Office Suite, Project, Visio, SharePoint, and development platforms.
  • Working knowledge of web development technologies and interface/data transport mechanisms.
  • Understanding of healthcare data formats and insurance workflows is a plus.

  • Healthcare IT-related certifications preferred.
