Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) to manage and oversee all aspects of security for programs requiring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM), Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) requirements. This role is essential in ensuring the protection of classified and sensitive information in accordance with government and customer directives.

The CPSO will also serve as the COMSEC lead and support day-to-day physical and personnel security operations, including managing visitor access and customer control requirements.

Pay: $45 - $50 an hour

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and implement security policies in compliance with NISPOM, SAP, SCI, and other DoD/IC security directives.
  • Serve as the primary security point of contact for assigned programs and coordinate with customer security personnel as needed.
  • Oversee and maintain all aspects of program security to include physical security, document control, personnel security, and access management.
  • Lead COMSEC operations, including key management, audits, inventory, and training in accordance with NSA requirements.
  • Support and manage visitor access, incoming visit requests, badging, escorting, and verifying clearance levels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of security documentation, including Program Access Requests (PARs), Visit Authorization Letters (VALs), and incident reports.
  • Provide security briefings and training to personnel with access to classified programs.
  • Support security inspections, audits, and program reviews conducted by government and customer security teams.

Experience Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Industrial, SAP, or SCI security, with direct CPSO experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series, ICDs, and customer security policies.
  • Experience managing COMSEC programs and compliance with NSA regulations.
  • Strong understanding of security clearance processes, including eQIP, JPAS/DISS, and SWFT.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Education Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous SSM or FSO experience in a defense or intelligence environment.
  • SAP/SAR and SCI indoctrination and management experience.
  • COMSEC Custodian certification or prior designation as COMSEC lead.
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
