Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

We're seeking a Senior Estimator with deep experience in heavy civil construction to lead and prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for large-scale projects. This role collaborates across teams, assesses project scope, and ensures all cost factors-from labor and materials to subcontractors and risk-are captured and optimized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full estimating process for heavy civil projects ($50M+), including takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor coordination, and bid submission.


• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to evaluate scope and identify value engineering opportunities.


• Review plans, specs, and contracts to develop detailed cost estimates.


• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.


• Maintain current knowledge of labor, material, and market trends.


• Build strong vendor and subcontractor relationships to obtain accurate pricing.


• Support post-bid reviews and contract transitions.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years in construction estimating, including:


• 5+ years estimating projects $50M+


• 5+ years in heavy civil scopes: roads, grading, utilities, TXDOT & municipal work


• Proficiency with HeavyBid (HCSS) and Agtek


• Strong math, communication, and MS Office skills


• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
