ITS has a client in the New Brunswick, NJ area seeking a RF Communication Systems Engineer. This is a Direct Hire job opportunity with excellent benefits.
The RF Communication Systems Engineer will play a key role in the design, integration, and support of advanced RF and microwave systems. This position bridges the gap between component-level RF/microwave hardware and complete communication systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and customer requirements are met. This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for a candidate who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across disciplines, and working on cutting-edge wireless systems.
Requirements: Skills, Education, Physical
- Solid understanding of RF and microwave principles.
- Familiarity with digital modulation schemes, SDRs (software-defined radios), and tactical communication systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in RF system design, integration, and testing.
- Experience performing link budget calculations and system-level analysis
- Experience with component-level RF/microwave hardware
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body.
- Knowledge of environmental and EMI/EMC compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of system integration into vehicles, UAVs, or fixed installations.
- Master's degree.
- Experience in defense or wireless communications preferred in reference to RF system design, integration, and testing.
- Experience with military or aerospace communication systems and standards.
- Familiarity with antenna systems and radiation patterns.

- Define, design, and develop RF and microwave communication systems, including transmitters, receivers, and full RF subsystems.
- Lead system-level RF architecture, link budget analysis, and trade studies to meet customer and program requirements.
- Integrate RF components (amplifiers, filters, mixers, antennas, cables) into complete systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal interference.
- Perform RF system simulations and analysis to predict and validate system behavior under various conditions.
- Develop system-level test plans and procedures to provide to test engineering for execution.
- Interface with customers to capture technical requirements and present system designs and performance results.
- Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including block diagrams, interface control documents, test reports, and user manuals.
- Stay current on emerging RF technologies and techniques, and recommend solutions to improve system performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Product, and manufacturing engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
