Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Data & Analytics to lead the Enterprise Analytics Value Stream within our Enterprise Data, Digital & Analytics (EDDA) organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital & Analytics Officer, you will drive the modernization and acceleration of enterprise-scale analytics that power growth, sharpen our competitive edge, and shape the future of insurance.

Leading a multi-disciplinary organization spanning Data Engineering, Business Insights Delivery, and Decision Science, you will deliver actionable insights that strengthen our position as the undeniable choice for agents and brokers, enable portfolio-level risk intelligence to manage aggregation and concentration of exposure, and create enhanced customer and digital experiences that drive loyalty and differentiation.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Enterprise Business Value (including but not limited to):
  • Enterprise Distribution: Enable enterprise-wide distribution insights that strengthen our position as the undeniable choice for agents and brokers. Deliver holistic broker and agent intelligence, optimize the sales and distribution funnel, and advance competitor and market insights.
  • Enterprise Risk Management: Provide portfolio-level risk analytics that empower CAT, Underwriting, and Risk Management teams to manage aggregation, catastrophe events, and concentration of exposure with precision.
  • Customer & Digital: Drive enhanced customer insights, personalization, and digital analytics that fuel differentiation and more engaging customer experiences.

Advance the Enterprise Data Strategy:
Set the vision for the enterprise data product strategy for shared domains, ensuring data assets are consistent, trusted, and scalable.

Modernize Insights Enablement:
Accelerate adoption of next-generation AI-driven analytics capabilities that transform decision science and business intelligence, making analytics more intelligent, accessible, and impactful for business partners.

Lead with Influence Across the Enterprise:
Serve as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, aligning analytics roadmaps to enterprise priorities and growth strategies. Build strong, collaborative relationships across a highly matrixed environment, ensuring alignment, accountability, and shared success across business and technology domains.

Champion Engineering Excellence:
Elevate modern data engineering practices, ensuring that our platforms, pipelines, and data products are cloud-native, automated, and designed for scale and reuse. Drive high standards of quality, security, and reliability while accelerating speed to insight through advanced engineering methods.

Develop and Inspire Talent:
Cultivate and lead a high-performing leadership team, fostering innovation, inclusivity, diversity of thought and continuous improvement. Inspire and coach leaders and their organizations, building a culture that emphasizes accountability, professional growth, and the pursuit of excellence in data engineering, insights delivery, and decision science.

Provide outside-in thought leadership and direction in shaping the data and digital analytic capabilities and delivery strategy.

Proactively stay abreast of developments and trends to advance digital transformation efforts, understand the intersection of technology, and business needs relevant to the company to drive business innovation through data and analytics and bring those insights into actionable business value delivery outcomes.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Advanced Degree in in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, information science or related field preferred.
  • Ten or more years of experience leading an enterprise/division data and analytics organization. Proven ability to build the vision for and lead an integrated data and analytics team.
  • Deep understanding of modern data architectures and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Expertise in enterprise data product strategy, data platforms, and reusable data assets at scale.
  • Proven experience with AI-driven analytics enablement, including BI modernization and next-generation insights platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering practices, including automation, quality, security, and reliability at enterprise scale.
  • Familiarity with decision science, advanced analytics, and machine learning as applied to business decision-making.
  • Experience defining, motivating and driving change at the executive level and across stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to articulate, persuade and communicate the value of data and analytics.
  • Experience as a thought leader and innovator in the development of new tools, methodologies and problem-solving approaches preferred. Broad understanding of latest data, analytics and technology trends and their impact on business strategies and operations.
  • Deep understanding and demonstrated ability to adapt to complex business environments and situations.


What is a Must Have?
  • Eight years of Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, information science or related field required.
