Location: Boston, MA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Azure Architect with deep expertise in Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake to design, implement, and optimize modern data and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture, data engineering, and modern analytics, and will play a key role in driving end-to-end cloud data strategies and solutions for enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable data platforms on Azure using Databricks and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into cloud architecture solutions.
- Develop end-to-end data pipelines, from ingestion to transformation and storage, integrating various Azure services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.).
- Design and implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.
- Optimize cost and performance of cloud-native data architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data engineers and developers.
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to support evolving data needs.
- Ensure best practices in cloud security, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in architectural reviews, code reviews, and solution design discussions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in IT with a focus on data architecture and cloud platforms.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong expertise in Databricks (preferably Azure Databricks) including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and notebook development.
- Proven experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, security, and data sharing.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and PySpark.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines in a distributed cloud environment.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data security and governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
