Job Title: Cloud Migration Project Manager (AWS)
Location: Hybrid in Essex County
Employment Type: Long term extending contract + perm possible
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Project Manager to lead enterprise-level cloud migration initiatives with a strong focus on AWS. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing cloud migration projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budget constraints, and timelines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing migrations to AWS, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Review upcoming cloud migration projects to determine scope, timelines, cost constraints, resource needs, and technical requirements.
Develop and manage detailed project plans including migration strategies, cutover planning, and post-migration support.
Coordinate the procurement and logistics of necessary materials and resources.
Collaborate with technical leads and engineers to assign duties and implement the migration work plan.
Manage risks, dependencies, and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular project updates and status reports to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and industry best practices during the migration process.
Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure successful cloud adoption.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT infrastructure or cloud-related projects.
Proven experience managing AWS cloud migration projects.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS services, architecture, and migration tools (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Server Migration Service, CloudEndure).
Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into clear business language.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
Experience managing third-party vendors and offshore teams.
Familiarity with other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
