Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Teradata Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of Teradata systems. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the Teradata database environment, providing support for day-to-day operations and critical business functions.

Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Teradata databases and related software components.
Monitor Teradata systems for performance and capacity, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Manage user access, roles, and privileges in the Teradata environment.
Performance Optimization:
Analyze query performance and recommend or implement changes for optimization.
Monitor and tune database performance, including query tuning, workload management, and space management.
Troubleshoot performance issues and provide timely resolutions.
Data Security:
Implement and enforce data security policies in line with corporate standards.
Perform regular audits and security reviews of the Teradata environment.
System Upgrades & Patching:
Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to Teradata systems as required.
Coordinate with internal teams to test and implement new features and functionality.
Disaster Recovery & Backup:
Ensure proper disaster recovery planning is in place and backups are performed regularly.
Participate in recovery drills and develop recovery strategies for Teradata databases.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other teams (e.g., data engineers, developers, and system administrators) to provide support for data migration, data integration, and troubleshooting.
Provide support for ETL processes, data warehouse queries, and business intelligence tools.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Strong experience in administering and managing Teradata databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in SQL and Teradata SQL.

Experience:
15 years of experience in managing Teradata environments.
Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to document processes and provide clear technical reports.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
