Job Description

The Client is looking for a Surveillance and Access Control Technician -III

IT Professional that works in a team responsible for facilities-based systems, including but not limited to, surveillance, door control, building automation, and telecommunication. This work includes all aspects of design, planning, installation, and support of the aforementioned systems, including supporting desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment. Install, configure, maintain, and monitor multiple state-wide networks, we are filtering with Palo Altos and Zscaler, as well as mitigating issues as they arise. Responsible for extensive system documentation creation and updates. Work is performed at the agency s nearly 200 locations, state-wide, including the agency s many secure sites, often independently. Delegation and improvisational skills, creativity, adaptability, and strong troubleshooting skills required. Day travel is also required, and long days are common.

Provides documentation/project tracking and management reporting. Provides tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects. Surveillance, network, and server support capabilities with 10 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Independently, performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Project Details:

On call rate of $2.25 an hour (On call once every 8 weeks. $2.25 per hour to carry the phone, and when a call comes in that requires work, normal rate applies.)

Travel on the team is mostly in-state, day trips. The state provides vehicles out of fleet pool for qualified drivers. There have been some occurrences of overnight travel, but it is very infrequent and planned out well in advance.

Top skills and years of experience:

3 years of experience working with Video Surveillance Knowledge (Network/Server/Workstation)

Interview Details:

First round via Teams and Second round in person at the DOC central office.

On-site or Remote?

Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense.

Hybrid Schedule with WFH and on-location at prisons as needed. For what is required of this role there is a lot of on-site travel (to the prisons) and setup time at central office.

The manager's stance is that when the contractor needs to be in the office or on site, they will need to be available, and it will be non-negotiable.
