Description
This health enterprise is doing a Forescout implementation project with NetBrain automation support. The Forescout Platform Appliance is a dedicated device that monitors traffic going through your organization's network. It helps protect the network against malicious activity, performs extensive NAC protection, lets you create network security zones and handles vulnerabilities. NYU is rolling this out and needs some strong experience with it as well with taking existing Ansible code and turning it into code on NetBrain. NetBrain is network automation and is a no-code platform for automating "Day 2" network operations workflows such as troubleshooting, outage prevention, and change management. It enables network engineers and subject matter experts to create Intent-based automated assessments and diagnostic procedures using only their network expertise without the need for traditional scripting or programming languages.

Needs an experienced Network Engineer with hands-on experience in both Ansible and NetBrain platforms to support a network automation migration project. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of multi-vendor network environments, strong Python and YAML scripting skills, and the ability to translate existing Ansible playbooks into NetBrain automation runbooks. This role involves working closely with architects and operational teams to design, test, and deploy scalable automation solutions that enhance network reliability and operational efficiency. The experience this engineer will need is below:

Network Automation & Scripting
Expertise with Ansible
o Experience writing and managing playbooks, roles, and Jinja2 templates
o YAML syntax fluency
o Use of Ansible Tower/AWX for workflow orchestration
Proficiency in NetBrain Automation
o Understanding of Dynamic Maps, Runbooks, Executable Maps, and Qapps
o Ability to translate procedural logic from Ansible into NetBrain's visual/runbook scripting format
o Experience with NetBrain Integrated IDE, Python Script Nodes, and CLI Parser
Python Programming
o Proficiency in writing and adapting Python scripts for network tasks
o Familiarity with NetBrain Python APIs for automation integration
CLI and Device Interaction
o Deep understanding of Cisco, Arista, Juniper CLI syntax and configuration patterns
o Ability to abstract CLI logic from Ansible into NetBrain CLI Parser rules

Network Infrastructure Knowledge
Routing and Switching Protocols
o Strong foundation in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VXLAN, and VRFs
Infrastructure Platforms
o Experience with multivendor environments: Cisco IOS/XE/XR, Nexus, ASA/FTD, Arista EOS, Juniper JunOS
SDN and Modern Architectures (Nice to Have)
o Familiarity with Cisco ACI, Meraki, SD-WAN
o Understanding how automation fits into SDN and hybrid data center architectures

Tooling and Integration
IPAM/DNS Integration
o Working knowledge of tools like Infoblox or BlueCat for automation use cases
Source Control
o Experience using Git for versioning and tracking Ansible/NetBrain scripts a plus.
Ticketing & ITSM Integration
o Familiarity with integrating automation with ServiceNow or other ticketing systems

Design & Implementation Experience
Leading or co-leading network automation design efforts
Translating manual SOPs or Ansible workflows into automated runbooks in NetBrain
Documenting design decisions, dependencies, and rollback plans for automation tasks
Performing test, validation, and deployment of automated tasks in staging and production environments

Soft Skills & Project Experience
Strong documentation and knowledge transfer skills (especially for automation runbooks)
Ability to collaborate with network architects, DevOps, and operations teams
Experience conducting code reviews, QA testing of automation outcomes, and post-migration tuning
Comfortable presenting migration strategies to leadership and project stakeholders
