COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION:
The client requires the services of a full-time Project Director to manage the agency's Continuum of Care project.
The primary goal of the initiative is to support improved outcomes for youth and families by creating a plan to facilitate the development of a continuum of care for at-risk youth in the District of Columbia.
The Project Director will collaborate with government and community stakeholders in D.C. to develop a plan for the establishment of a continuum of care to address gaps in service delivery for youth involved in and at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system.
A well-resourced continuum of care should include a wide range of supports, from community-based prevention services for youth at risk of system involvement, to diversion and intervention services that prevent youth from penetrating deeper into the juvenile justice system, as well as re-entry services to help support with community reintegration following a period of detention.
The Project Director will convene and facilitate meetings of the Planning Council and develop a planning process that at minimum includes asset mapping, a gap analysis, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and a report detailing the continuum of care plan with an implementation timeline.
Specific Duties:
- Attend monthly meetings with client staff to update the agency regarding the status of the project, including progress and any challenges encountered.
- Convene a Planning Council and facilitate monthly meetings, including drafting agenda, meeting notes, and follow-up plans.
- Complete a literature review to identify best practices and model sites.
- Coordinate site visits to two local model programs.
- Work with the Planning Council to identify key data points for tracking and monitoring and subsequently collect and analyze selected data.
- Conduct asset mapping to identify currently available resources for youth and their families, as well as any service gaps.
- Complete a needs and gap analysis to determine the needs of at-risk youth, whether there are available services to meet their needs, and the barriers that youth and families face in accessing services.
- Produce a report that includes asset mapping, a needs and gaps analysis, a review of best-practices and
model sites, and a plan for the development of a continuum of care for at-risk youth that includes an implementation timeline.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:- Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the social sciences, preferably specializing in criminal justice, juvenile justice, or behavioral sciences.
- Project management experience.
- Conducting research and evaluations using public health or justice system administrative data.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of the public health and criminal justice systems and the provision of social services, especially as it related to community-based services for at-risk or system-involved youth.
- Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, respond to stakeholders' needs, and regularly update
stakeholders about project milestones in similar projects.
- Demonstrate an ability to analyze information from disparate datasets and qualitative information to derive a comprehensive understanding of the research topic.
- Demonstrate an ability to meaningfully engage community members and youth in the planning process.
- Outstanding oral communication skills, including public speaking.
- Outstanding written communication skills, including writing complex documents.

Graduate degree or related field or equivalent experience
