Job Details

Seeking a Product Owner is the expert for a technical development or execution environment product or set of products.

Duration: contract position/through 6-30-26
Work location: Columbus (hybrid-2-3 days a week onsite)

Duties:
-Ensure availability and facilitate the productive use of a product for application teams or end users.
-May own part of a product, all of one, or several products depending on the nature of the product(s) and their use.
-Interact with technical architect, systems engineer, programmer and vendors to ensure and enhance the use of the product and effect migration to new versions of a product.
-Act as the technical SME on an enterprise-wide system implementation of products/services
-Provide direct technical expertise for executive applications involving national security.
-Make product recommendations on functional and technical improvement.
-Analyze the functional and technical impact of product planning decisions.
-Develop appropriate functional and usability standards for products.
-Track and document expected volume and type of use of the product.
-Participate in product design reviews to verify that the design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements.
-Perform impact analysis on production fixes and enhancements to establish priorities.
-Provide basic product support, accurate and complete answers to detailed product questions in a timely manner and effective on-site product support as needed.
-Defect management, accurately set severity of identified defects.
-Provide input for training and/or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design changes.
-Document all work for future reference, review the system test approach and conditions used as the basis for detailed test scenarios.

Background:
-RICS: Relationally Integrated Computer System (RICS) application modernization for the information system is currently a Microsoft Access user interface with a SQL Server backend (known as RBDMS) that is to be converted to a web-based application hosted within the Azure cloud.
-RBDMS: Existing legacy system is a Microsoft Access user interface with a SQL Server backend. This system is still in operation and needs a resource that will work with the internal users to define a roadmap to sunset the legacy system.

Deliverables:
-Evaluate, identify, and resolve the current bi-direction sync issues between the RICS system tables and data fields and the RBDMS tables and data fields.
-Create roadmap to sunset active RBDMS functionality being used by program areas.
-Act as a proxy Product Owner with RICS vendor through attending standups, defining features, user stories and acceptance criteria requirements in Azure ADO for development of approved RICS enhancements.
-Assume lead role working with business leads to test and validate RICS developed enhancements.
-Manage existing OnBase taxonomy including identifying and submitting additional new OnBase document groups and document types as required.

Skills required/desired amount of experience:
-MS-Access & SQL Server (TSQL) development-required 7 yrs.
-Writing stored procedures & triggers to create bi-directional sync between RICS & JM-required 7 yrs
-Writing SQL queries to perform data clean up or orphan data-required 7 yrs.
-Creating ETL process between systems-required 7 yrs.
-Resolve OnBase issues when transferring legacy documents (RBDMS) into OnBase with RICS taxonomy-required 5 yrs.
-Agile/Scrum software methodology-required 3 yrs.
-Document all requirements in ADO-required
-Able to use Visio to document the sync process-required
