Job Title: Product Development Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a confident, hands-on Product Development Engineer to play a key role in designing and launching advanced aerospace components. This highly visible position demands a proactive, team-oriented engineer with strong manufacturing experience particularly in brazing, welding, and CNC machining who can lead projects from concept through production.
You will serve as a critical link between engineering design and manufacturing, helping to ensure products meet performance, cost, and quality targets while adhering to aerospace industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the conceptual design and development of new products from prototype through production.
Interpret and apply customer and industry specifications to engineering and manufacturing processes.
Review and approve detailed drawing packages, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, GD&T standards, manufacturing methods, and cost considerations.
Serve as Product Support Engineer throughout the product lifecycle, providing ongoing technical guidance and troubleshooting.
Develop and refine manufacturing processes, including tooling, routing sheets, work instructions, and fixtures for machining, brazing, welding, and testing.
Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to implement cost-effective, high-quality processes aligned with customer specifications.
Ensure on-time delivery of new products through timely documentation and active support on the shop floor.
Conduct inspection data analysis (CMM reports, test data) and support quality processes including ECNs, DMRs, and MRB reviews.
Lead failure analysis investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
Develop cost estimates for new product quotations and lead or support cost reduction initiatives.
Drive process improvements by researching and implementing more efficient methods, tools, and workflows.
Actively lead or participate in multifunctional project teams and R&D initiatives.
Mentor junior engineers and designers, contributing to the development of the technical team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with direct involvement in new product introduction (NPI), product design, and hands-on manufacturing.
Strong, practical experience with machining, tooling, brazing, and GTAW (TIG) welded assemblies.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects with confidence and technical authority.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.
Preferred Experience:
Proficiency with SolidWorks and MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
Familiarity with military and aerospace standards, including ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5, and AS9100.
Working knowledge of MRB processes, ECNs, and Six Sigma methodologies.
