We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Financial Operations Analyst to join our Business Management Office (BMO) within the Office of the CIO. The BMO supports multiple verticals within Technology, and as the function grows, it will extend support to all technology areas, providing the CIO with a comprehensive landscape of technology operations. This position is a critical addition to the team, focused on managing routine deliverables while seeking opportunities to improve and automate processes to drive scalability and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis and operations, ideally within a financial services organization or a technology function supporting financial services enterprises. You will collaborate closely with Technology, Finance, and Accounts Payable teams to deliver high-quality operational reporting and refine reporting structures for improved team efficiency.
Over time, this role will evolve from an individual contributor to a leadership position, so we are seeking a highly capable professional ready to take on increasing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Financial Operations: Manage business analysis for expense management and budgeting within Technology.
Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, Technology, Accounts Payable) to ensure alignment of new budget requests with current financials.
Executive Guidance: Offer guidance and best practices while collaborating with senior stakeholders. The role requires a strong executive presence.
Facilitate Stakeholder Communication: Lead meetings, presentations, and updates to senior management, influencing key decision-makers.
Budget Oversight: Manage and update budgets throughout the year, analyzing changes and understanding impacts from fluctuations.
Team Leadership & Support: Assist BMO team leads by providing support and mentorship to junior team members, and step into a lead role when necessary.
Data Management & Reporting: Query databases, perform data validation, troubleshoot reporting issues, and ensure data integrity in all reports.
Customer Service: Act as a primary point of contact for the BMO, ensuring a high level of customer service to internal stakeholders.
Process Improvement: Design and improve business processes, reports, and methodologies to increase efficiency and deliver quality results.
Strategic Insight: Balance a detail-oriented approach with the ability to extract and communicate key insights to Technology leaders.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in financial analysis within the banking or financial services sector. (This is not a pure finance role, but a blend of finance and operations.)
Strong proficiency in data analysis, with a solid understanding of expense management and budgeting processes.
Advanced skills in Tableau and Power BI for creating reports and dashboards.
Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus.
Proven experience leading and coaching teams, with the ability to mentor junior team members.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and a focus on quality, detail, and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, all while maintaining a focus on high-quality, on-time delivery.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify risks, improve processes, and optimize workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in technology-based financial operations within a financial services enterprise or supporting financial functions.
Ability to transition from an individual contributor to a leadership role as the team expands.
