Java Backend Developer with Strong PL/SQL Experience
Location: Austin, TX and Morris Plains, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- Design and optimize complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages in Oracle.
- Integrate Java services with Oracle databases using JDBC or ORM tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DBAs, frontend, QA) for full-stack integration.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across backend and database layers.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Ensure best practices for clean code, security, and maintainability.
- Support production issues and implement quick resolutions for critical backend/database problems.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate).
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL writing stored procedures, packages, triggers.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and SQL performance tuning.
- Proficiency with version control tools like Git.
- Experience with tools like Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
