Position: Multi-Cloud Systems Engineer
Location: Local to Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)
Remote Work: Yes (Must attend in-person meetings when needed)
Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Full-Time Salary (after conversion): $105,000/year + Leidos Benefits

Job Overview:
The Civil Group at Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team. This role focuses on managing Windows and Linux servers within a multi-cloud environment. You will help engineer and maintain compute/storage infrastructures, drive automation, ensure system performance, and maintain compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:
Systems Administration
  • Administer Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8
  • Perform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and compliance management
  • Use scripting languages for automation
  • Develop and deploy using Infrastructure-as-Code via DevOps pipelines
  • Administer SSL certificates and domain infrastructures
  • Test and manage data backups and disaster recovery
Active Directory Management
  • Manage user/system identities, access controls, onboarding/offboarding, and privilege escalation
  • Implement and manage Group Policies and Azure EntraID
Network Infrastructure
  • Design and manage highly available and secure network architectures in hybrid-cloud environments
  • Handle IP-based access rules, CIDR configurations, and network routing
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams for cloud-native solution deployment
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date system/network documentation
  • Support training, manage incidents, and identify cost-saving improvements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and server hardening
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, DHCP, TLS, IP routing, subnetting)
  • Experience in infrastructure automation
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Eligible to obtain Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master s degree in a related field
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP)
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure Policy, or Azure EntraID
