We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RF Systems Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical communications and IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on field-based role requiring a mix of RF engineering know-how and IT networking expertise to support both legacy and modern digital communications systems in diverse and often remote environments.

responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of RF and digital communication systems including analog and P25 radio systems, microwave backhaul, and supporting IT infrastructure.
- Collect and analyze system performance data, including antenna power readings, cable sweeps, channel alignment, and IP traffic diagnostics using tools like Wireshark.
- Provide field service support and emergency response for system outages-rotating pager/on-call responsibilities apply.
- Configure and maintain network systems including VMware environments, Red Hat Linux, Cisco routers/switches, and Active Directory.
- Operate a wide range of test and diagnostic tools: communications monitors, T1 test sets, antenna/network analyzers, CLI (Cisco/Linux), and more.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all technical procedures, test results, and service outcomes.
- Regular travel to customer sites (including remote and rugged areas) using a company-issued vehicle.
qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in LMR/RF systems, wireless infrastructure, or IT systems support.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting RF signal paths, network connectivity issues, and digital system anomalies.
- Familiarity with VMware, TCP/IP networking, Cisco hardware, Red Hat Linux, and Microsoft Server environments.
- Strong technical aptitude in using diagnostic tools such as IP/network analyzers, SSH/FTP/Telnet tools, and RF test equipment.
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs regularly and work in physically demanding field conditions.
- Must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and be willing to travel to customer locations daily.
- Associates degree in electronics is a plus, but equivalent experience (3-8 years) will be considered in lieu of formal education.
