Job Title: Software Engineer (Active Secret Clearance required)
Duration: 3+ years

Location: Lexington, MA 02421, United States
Work Location (Hybrid): Onsite - The individual should expect to be onsite 4 days a week with up to 1 day remote. Final schedule TBD by hiring manager.
Travel: Estimated to be 15% (estimated to be a week every other month) - domestic.
Job Overview:
Full lifecycle application development. Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages. Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis. Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD). Software modeling and simulation. Front end graphical user interface design. Software testing and quality assurance. Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation. Supports, maintains and documents software functionality. Integrates software with existing systems. Evaluates and identifies new technologies for implementation. Maintains standards compliance. Implements localization or globalization of software
Background/Need:
Client's Group develops innovative undersea and undersea-enabled capabilities for transition to operational systems of the US Navy and other Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors. Focus areas include acoustic and non-acoustic sensors, undersea networks, autonomous systems, and advanced signal processing algorithms. The group performs rigorous systems analyses, develops system architectures, and builds prototypes to demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of new concepts, capabilities, and processing techniques. In addition, the group provides undersea domain and technology expertise to inform and motivate novel cross-domain concept development.
Job Description:
The group seeks a software engineer to support a number of cutting-edge projects for undersea systems. The position will provide software development opportunities in a high-performing team, defining, implementing, demonstrating and validating modern flexible software architectures that implement adaptive processing, tracking, estimation, classification, communications, image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence and human-machine interface.
Required:
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and at least one year of software development experience.
Experience developing in MATLAB, Java, C/C++, and Python.
Comprehensive knowledge in Object Oriented Programming.
Developing, debugging, and executing software in both Linux and windows environments.
Proficiency in parallel processing, multi-threaded programming, thread safety, and thread synchronization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work well on a team and individually, and set priorities.
Understanding of networking architectures and protocols.
Experience with algorithm optimization for real time systems.
Preferred:
Experience with Git and Apache Subversion configuration control
Experience with Eclipse IDE
Experience developing in C#
Experience with GUI development (Qt or GTK+)
Experience with other IDEs (Visual Studio, for example)
Experience processing large volumes of data
Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
Understanding of advanced linear algebra concepts
Other:
Clearance: Candidates must have an active secret clearance in order to be considered for this position.
Remote Work: Hybrid - 75% on site 25% remote. This will be work dependent and determined by the hiring manager. Candidate MUST be local to Lexington to travel onsite as needed. Work location will be 3 Forbes Road.
Interview Process: 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager. 2nd round interview will be a Zoom with additional team members as needed.
