Position: Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Hartford / Charlotte/ Chicago
Employment Type: Fulltime
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and highly available infrastructure systems.
- Implement and manage observability tools and practices, ensuring system reliability, performance, and uptime.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure, application performance, and system health.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system scalability, reliability, and automation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.
- Proactively identify and address potential system bottlenecks, reliability risks, and performance issues.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system resiliency.
- Advocate for SRE principles, best practices, and observability improvements across teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of overall IT experience, with a strong foundation in DevOps practices and tooling.
- 2-4 years of dedicated Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
- Proven expertise in one or more observability platforms Splunk or Dynatrace is required.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Solid scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of system and network fundamentals.
- Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident management processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform or observability tools (Splunk/Dynatrace) are a plus.
- Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries is advantageous.
