Job Details

Position: Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Hartford / Charlotte/ Chicago

Employment Type: Fulltime

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and highly available infrastructure systems.
  • Implement and manage observability tools and practices, ensuring system reliability, performance, and uptime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure, application performance, and system health.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system scalability, reliability, and automation.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.
  • Proactively identify and address potential system bottlenecks, reliability risks, and performance issues.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system resiliency.
  • Advocate for SRE principles, best practices, and observability improvements across teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience, with a strong foundation in DevOps practices and tooling.
  • 2-4 years of dedicated Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
  • Proven expertise in one or more observability platforms Splunk or Dynatrace is required.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Solid scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of system and network fundamentals.
  • Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident management processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform or observability tools (Splunk/Dynatrace) are a plus.
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries is advantageous.
