Job Title: Engineer 2, Electrical
Job Location: 4607 SE International Way, Milwaukie, OR 97222
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday
Duties: Provide Electrical Engineering expertise for a range of activities: designing, testing, maintaining, and improving electronic components or products. Solve technical problems using a combination of experience, judgment and precedents. Apply expertise in both electrical and mechanical engineering in various aspects of the development of components and control systems. Prepare a range of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Communicate complex technical information to others in a clear and effective manner in conversation and during internal and external presentations. Use discretion and independent judgment when evaluating courses of action; makes decisions after considering various options. Position requires 10% domestic and 5% international travel.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related engineering field and three (3) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Opto-electronics Engineer, Systems Engineer, or related role where experience was gained. Also requires experience in the following:
Electrical Engineering, especially analog circuits, power electronics, and electro-magnetic concepts and the ability to apply power analysis methods to circuits, electrical components and systems, including electric machines;
Analog Circuit, design, analysis, testing and troubleshooting of Power Electronics topologies and devices as well as Electric Machines from the Electrical perspective;
Electric schematic and thermal design and modeling tools such as SolidWorks, Altium, LTspice, and Anysys;
Working knowledge of mechanical and thermal aspects of electrical sub-system design and packaging;
Assembly of breadboard and prototype PCBAs; setting up test equipment and apparatuses, conducting performance testing, collecting and analyzing test data;
Troubleshooting and evaluating new PCBAs, resolving issues with existing designs;
Designing products complying with Mil Specs for Aerospace Aviation; and
Working with vendors and suppliers, preparing Request for Quote documents (RFQs), and issuing Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
