Role: AI Developer
Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Azure AI/Search, including chunking, embeddings, re-ranking, evaluation, and citation display.
• Develop and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools/servers to integrate with scanners, inventory systems, approvals, and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
• Build agentic AI solutions using frameworks like AutoGen, CrewAI, or Agno, enabling secure tool-calling and multi-agent orchestration.
• Develop production-grade chatbots with multi-turn conversation, retrieval grounding, guardrails, prompt management, and audit logging.
• Securely integrate Azure OpenAI behind API Management (APIM); manage secrets via Key Vault, events via Event Hub, and monitoring via App Insights/Log Analytics.
• Evaluate and fine-tune open-source models using PEFT/LoRA, optimizing for quality, latency, cost, and safety.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, perform testing, red-teaming (prompt injection/jailbreaks), and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4 8 years of total software development experience, including 2+ years in GenAI/LLM applications.
• Strong Python skills with hands-on experience in Azure OpenAI and Azure AI/Search (vector, hybrid, semantic search).
• Experience with agent frameworks (AutoGen, CrewAI, Agno) and MCP/tool-use implementations.
• Proven expertise with Azure PaaS (Functions/Web Apps, APIM, Key Vault, Event Hub) and secure API design (RBAC, Entra ID).
• Experience in observability (App Insights, Log Analytics/KQL) and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RAG evaluation frameworks (e.g., Ragas), Cosmos DB, and KQL scripting.
• Strong security mindset - content safety, prompt-injection defense, privacy, and threat modeling.
• Exposure to LLM cost monitoring and latency optimization.
