Job Title: IT Operations Support Engineer (SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, Cloud, Infrastructure, Networks, End-User Support)
Location: 100% Remote
Term: W2 Contract
Job Summary: The IT Operations Support Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of client IT systems and services, with a focus on supporting environments powered by SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, and cloud infrastructure. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, incident resolution, and collaboration with internal teams and Managed Services Providers (MSPs) to maintain high service availability and performance. The engineer will support day-to-day IT operations, monitor systems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure, networking, and end-user services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for IT operations across SAP, cloud, infrastructure, and network environments.
- Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests, escalating to MSPs or senior engineers when necessary.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like SolarWinds, DataDog, or Nagios, and take proactive steps to prevent issues.
- Collaborate with MSPs to ensure timely resolution of issues and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring problems and contribute to implementing long-term fixes.
- Support end-user services, including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), identity and access management (IAM), and basic application troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation of operational procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.
- Participate in change management processes, ensuring updates and deployments are executed smoothly.
- Work with internal security teams to ensure systems comply with security policies and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide on-call support as needed for critical systems and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations or technical support, preferably in environments with MSP involvement.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls).
- Experience supporting Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services.
- Proficiency with monitoring and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, SolarWinds).
- Basic understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
