Overview

Quest Diagnostics Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Greensboro, NC. As part of an Agile Team, design and implement new features and technologies. Deliver high-quality, high-performance code in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for macro-scale architecture enterprise data, analytics, generative AI and operations business intelligence. Providing guidance and oversight to multiple development teams working on different data and analytic products or technologies to ensure that the technologies interoperate appropriately. Participate in the full software development life cycle involving design, implementation, testing, and launching. Own the delivery of an entire system or application and serve as a technical lead on complex projects. Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development. Build software solutions where the problem is not well defined. Design and define the interaction between the other component pieces. Analyze complex datasets, leveraging latest advancements in AI, to drive data-driven insights and innovative solutions. Mentor software engineers to improve their skills. Maintain compliance with relevant department and IT SOPs, and provide updates as needed. Position is eligible for up to 80% remote work. Must live within commutable distance to Greensboro, NC office to report for onsite work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus seven (7) years of software development or data engineering experience. Experience must include: 7 years of experience in programming languages, such as: SQL, Python or Java; development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications; making high-level design choices and developing technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms; statistical analysis, data visualization techniques, and BI tools; and data engineering concepts and tools for data processing and storage, including: Matillion for ETL development, SQL, and Snowflake. Position is eligible for up to 80% remote work. Must live within commutable distance to Greensboro, NC office to report for onsite work.
