Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data and Observability Engineer to design, implement, and manage advanced data analytics and monitoring solutions. This role combines expertise in Splunk, Dynatrace, Tableau, SQL, Machine Learning, and R Programming to drive operational excellence, application performance, and business insights. The candidate will build and maintain observability pipelines, develop predictive models, and create interactive visualizations to support IT operations, security, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observability and Monitoring: Deploy and configure Splunk Enterprise/Cloud and Dynatrace to monitor application performance, infrastructure, and digital experience. Create custom dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into system health and security.
- Data Visualization: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights. Integrate Tableau with Splunk, SQL databases, and other data sources for seamless visualization.
- Data Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Snowflake). Develop stored procedures and ensure data integrity and security.
- Machine Learning: Build, train, and deploy machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or Splunk s Machine Learning Toolkit for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and forecasting.
- R Programming: Leverage R for statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and visualization using packages like ggplot2 and Shiny. Integrate R-based analytics with Tableau or Splunk for enhanced reporting.
- Integration and Automation: Integrate Splunk, Dynatrace, and Tableau with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), CI/CD pipelines, and databases to create automated, scalable observability and analytics workflows.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (DevOps, security, business analysts) to translate requirements into technical solutions. Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Optimization and Troubleshooting: Optimize Splunk searches, Dynatrace configurations, and machine learning models for performance and scalability. Troubleshoot issues across systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain documentation for configurations, models, and processes. Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, observability, or related roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Splunk (Enterprise/Cloud) for data ingestion, search, and dashboard creation. Splunk Certified Power User/Administrator is a plus.
- Expertise in Dynatrace for application performance monitoring (APM) and infrastructure observability. Dyn Associate certification is a plus.
- Advanced skills in Tableau (Desktop, Server, Prep) for data visualization. Tableau Desktop Specialist certification is a plus.
- Strong SQL proficiency for querying and managing relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake).
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and building models for predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in R programming for statistical analysis and visualization (e.g., ggplot2, Shiny, caret).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to translate technical insights into business value.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Splunk, Dynatrace, Tableau, or cloud platforms.
- Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) or MLOps practices.
- Familiarity with integrating observability and analytics tools in hybrid cloud environments.
