Job Title:  IT Applications Solution Architect (MID)- Data Governance Specialist
Location: Washington D.C ( Remote)
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Metadata Management: Create and maintain metadata repositories, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets, definitions, and relationships.
  • Data Lineage: Establish and manage data lineage processes to track data flow from source to consumption, facilitating impact analysis and compliance reporting.
  • Data Stewardship: Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define data ownership, stewardship roles, and responsibilities.
  • Tool Utilization: Leverage tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation to support metadata management and data governance initiatives.
  • Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on data governance best practices and the use of metadata tools.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor data governance metrics and implement improvements to enhance data quality and governance processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Experiment with new tools and approaches to continuously improve the overall Data Analytics ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Develop and manage Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) solutions.
  • Implement Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) for metadata, data lineage, and data quality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define governance policies and standards.
  • Optimize data pipelines for security, speed, and stability in cloud environments.
  • Integrate governance solutions with cross functional systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality, security, and accessibility.
  • Monitor and audit data management systems for accuracy and consistency.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for data governance across departments.
  • Oversee data classification, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra), SQL, and data modeling concepts.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata standards, data quality and data lineage methodologies.
  • 6–8 years in data integration and governance roles.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC & CDGC.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, AWS, Azure, and Transportation data systems.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud connectors, and integration tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks in regulated environments.
  • strong Experience in data governance, data management, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy laws and industry regulations.
  • Expertise in data governance tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation.
  • Proficiency in SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), and data modeling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
