Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
As an IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator (Part Time) you will have the opportunity to do the following: Database Management: Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security.
- System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch updates and configuration changes.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.
- Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols.
- Capacity Planning: Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience as an IDMS Database Administrator with broad experience with legacy versions of Mainframe Server platforms.
- Experience and certification with COBOL a plus.
- DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
- CompTIA Security + certification.
