#1734 Mechanical Engineer Designer Job Description
Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer Designer. The Mechanical Engineer Designer will be responsible for planning and implementing engineering projects related to new capital improvements or equipment upgrades, investigating mechanical problems, and developing technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage capital project activities including appropriation requests, project estimates, engineering design and specifications, bidding specifications, installation, etc.
- Work with consulting firms, suppliers, construction/maintenance contractors.
- Perform engineering investigations, corrective actions, and implementation of mechanical problems.
- Design and develop downstream processes.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of plant shutdown activities.
- Make recommendations for potential cost-saving projects.
- Conduct studies and prepare reports on project feasibility and cost projections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in mechanical or civil engineering preferred.
- 2 years minimum of experience in an industrial environment.
- Engineering and mechanical knowledge; and experience in determining malfunctions of mechanical equipment or devices.
- Experience in the recycling industry preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working on Bailers, Shredders, and ASR Plants.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office and Inventor preferred.
