RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's notable California Utility client is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to come join their Bay Area team. This is a hybrid role - locations will vary and gas/mileage will be reimbursed.
Summary:
This team of Project Management within Electric Operations works on a wide range of projects, all under $25M, individually. Each Project Manager oversees 20-30 projects, about 3-5 that are active construction. These are not new builds, but to be considered tenant improvements for aspects of utilities (overhead conductors, reliability improvements on a circuit, replacing a pole, installing a switch, etc.).
Duties:
* Oversee 20-30 projects (3-5 actively in construction at any given time)
* Combined project value: $20M-$30M (individual projects typically range from $10M-$25M max)
* Partner with a Project Controls Analyst who is responsible for the project scheduling and cost forecasting; Focus on keeping projects on track and status tracking
* Isolate project status and hold teams accountable
* Work cross functionally with internal teams (i.e. land planning, permitting, etc.)
* Determines that project objectives are achievable
* Provides guidance to engineering on producing complex risk and alternative analyses, studies, and conceptual designs for presentation to project sponsor
* Oversees and administrates EPC contracts in accordance with ESC Work Oversight Committee
* Negotiates third party contracts, in support of other departments when appropriate
* Develops and champions company-wide best practices
* Arbitrates and resolves conflicts within the project
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3- 8 years of experience in project management
* Utility, Telecom or Substation project experience
* Must have Substation FR clothing
* SAP experience and understand SAP status
* Needs to be able to put together schedules
* Understand the critical path items
* Familiar with permitting experience
* Knowledge of land acquisition, CPUC and environmental permitting and EPC contracting procedures are a plus
Schedule:
* Expected one day in office either San Ramon, Dublin, or San Francisco.
* Expected 1-2 days visiting their job sites (around Bay Area) - mileage reimbursement is available
* Expected the other 1-2 days Work from Home
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
