About the Role

As an Avionics Technician III, you will play a critical role in maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting avionics systems in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. This position supports aviation-related operations and requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and technical manuals
• Interpret and apply technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and publications
• Route and install wiring per technical drawings
• Ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and internal safety standards
• Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy equipment, or machinery as needed
• Identify and resolve issues related to avionics systems and components

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience: Typically 5+ years of relevant experience (higher-level degrees may substitute for experience)
• Skills:
• Must have own tools in good working condition
• Advanced proficiency in avionics installation tooling, wiring, soldering, and crimping
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and route wires accurately
• Strong understanding of avionics maintenance procedures and safety-sensitive operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL certifications
• Basic knowledge of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and pitot static equipment
• Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and stair climbing
• Repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions; fine motor skills required
• Visual acuity for close and distance work, color differentiation, and depth perception
• Hearing ability to discern tones and volumes
• Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to outdoor elements (temperature extremes, precipitation)
• Exposure to fumes, hazardous chemicals/materials, and loud noises
• Safety-sensitive role involving inspection and handling of hazardous materials and aviation-related duties
