Job Title: WPS Consultant
Long term contract

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WPS (Workplace Services) Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our end-user computing environment for our client. You will also be a key driver of innovation, constantly seeking out new technologies and strategies to enhance our digital workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in a variety of EUC technologies, along with a proven track record of leading successful projects and driving change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Roadmap Development:
- Create, own, and maintain the strategic roadmap for all Workplace Services, including hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) and software estates.
- Define and manage the complete lifecycle for all EUC assets, planning for technology refreshes, version upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Align the EUC roadmap with broader IT and business objectives, ensuring future scalability and efficiency.
- Technical Expertise and Leadership:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on a wide range of EUC technologies, including:
- Monitoring and User Experience Analytics: Experience with tools like Nexthink to monitor and improve the end-user experience.
- Endpoint Management: SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Airwatch, and other UEM solutions.
- Virtualization: Design, deployment, and maintenance of VDI environments.
- Productivity and Collaboration: Deep knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Service Management: Expertise in using and optimizing ServiceNow for incident, request, and asset management.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on a wide range of EUC technologies, including:
- Vendor and Asset Management:
- Manage relationships with key vendors for hardware, software, and services.
- Oversee the IT asset lifecycle, from procurement to disposal, in line with the defined roadmap.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the EUC team.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, and make recommendations for their adoption.
- Lead initiatives to optimize and enhance existing EUC services.
- Architectural Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive EUC solutions, focusing on Microsoft 365, Azure, and Exchange Online.
- Architect and manage migrations from on-premise systems to cloud-based solutions (e.g., O365, Exchange Online).
- Develop and maintain architectural standards and documentation for the EUC environment.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage security solutions to protect end-user devices and data, including M365 DLP, Cloud App Security, and Advanced Threat Protection.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in an IT role with a focus on end-user computing.
- Proven experience as an architect or senior engineer in a large, complex IT environment, with specific experience in technology roadmap creation.
- Technical Skills:
- Required: SCCM, Nexthink, IT Asset Management, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, VDI.
- Preferred: Intune, Airwatch, ProofPoint, Mimecast, Power BI.
- Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, ITIL, CompTIA Security+).
