Infrastructure Manager

Description

Rober Half is assisting a client in the Greater Boston area to hire a Data Center Manager with a strong, hands-on background managing data center operations, virtualizatoin, and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure. This is a permanent placement position.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
2. Lead the standard setting for directory services, including Active Directory, SAML 2.0, and Federation Services on hyper cloud environment.
3. Oversee the efficient use of VMware, servers, and virtualization technologies within the data center.
4. Help lead migration initiatives from on-prem to the cloud
5. Handle disaster recovery operations by implementing robust strategies and processes, ensuring business continuity at all times.
6. Forward-thinking approach towards server environment; ensuring upgrades, maintenance, and renovations are carried out timely and effectively.
7. Execution of regular system audits; ensuring all systems, servers, and procedures adhere to organizational quality standards.
8. Manage hardware maintenance, installation, network management, multi-vendor maintenance, and software support.
9. Ensure the health, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance of the data center, in accordance with industry best practices.
10. Proactively monitor data center capacity and utilization.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the management of data center infrastructure.

Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware, servers, and virtualization technologies.

Comprehensive understanding of directory services such as Active Directory, SAML 2.0, and Federation Services.

Proven expertise in managing disaster recovery operations in a robust, large-scale environment.

Strong knowledge of access controls, user rights and permissions, and storage allocation.

Understanding of necessary standards for ensuring privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

Good time-management skills.
