What You Will Enjoy Doing

Main Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparing 3D CAD & 2D drawings of Head Tools in collaboration with EBM Process Experts and/or Head Tool Engineers
  • Responsible for the creation and development of new and existing plastic packaging designs and drawings, and supporting components (as needed)
    • Prepare product designs with 3D CAD software under consideration of technical feasibility, design aspects, and customer specification requirements
    • Completion of 2D technical drawings including all GD&T
    • Adhere to ALPLA design standards and DFM
  • Responsible for reverse engineering real world products into CAD
  • Responsible for designing plastic packaging, 3D modeling, 2D detailing, Rendering
  • Conducts design meetings with customers and other members of the design team
  • Maintains integrity of CAD database, nomenclatures, and ALPLA standard processes
  • Performs any other duties in connection with the job that may from time to time be reasonably required by supervision and which are consistent with the "Main Purpose of the Job"


What Makes You Great

Education: Minimum Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required

Experience: 0 to 3 years related experience and/or training

Skills:
  • Proficient in parametric 3D CAD, NX preferred
  • Familiarity with FEA tools and processes
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Understanding of GD&T and engineering design principles (DFM, FMEA)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are needed
  • Ability to work independently in a global team environment with input from a variety of sources including Customers, Project Engineers, and Process Experts
  • Meticulous attention to detail and committed to superior quality results
