Job Details

We are seeking a Substation Engineering and Project Manager to oversee and direct multiple engineering design projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget, while upholding high technical standards and fostering client relationships.

Role & Responsibilities:


  • Provides project management of multiple engineering design projects with management of scope, schedule, and budget
  • Applies understanding of engineering and technical principles to understand client scope and manage projects to meet scope deliverables
  • Provides engineering (design) input on package deliverables to assist in the production and quality review of projects
  • Prepares engineering cost and man-hour estimates/schedules
  • Assists in the estimation of estimates and bid packages
  • Manages production of engineering output to meet project schedule and budget.
  • Executes change order management
  • Maintains accurate and organized documentation and document controls
  • Interfaces with clients and internal stakeholders representing company culture and values
  • Travels to job sites, clients, offsite meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills and practice
  • Knowledge of common power industry engineering and design practices
  • Familiarity of the NESC and IEEE/ANSI Standards
  • Technical understanding of electrical engineering, substation protection & controls and electrical transmission.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communicates with technical and non-technical individuals
  • Creates, manipulates, and reads drawings
  • Learns through observation and hands-on experience
  • Follows verbal and written instructions
  • Gathers data, compiles information, and makes reports
  • Multi-tasks, establishes priorities, and meets deadlines
  • Works on, and with a team
  • Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision

License/Certification:

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering preferred
  • Engineering or Technical background required
  • Minimum five years design experience required
  • PE license preferred
  • Previous engineering consulting experience is strongly preferred
  • Previous engineering project management experience required
