Job Title: Product Manager – Healthcare Technology and Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) Location: Remote - United States
Position Type: Contract (12+ months) on W2
Compensation: $50-$65/hour dependent on experience

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic Product Manager with a proven track record in healthcare technology, pharmacy benefits management (PBM), and Medicare/Medicaid systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience driving end-to-end product delivery, leading cross-functional teams, and implementing innovative solutions that optimize workflows, improve user experience, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle - from ideation through launch and ongoing optimization - across digital health, PBM, and insurance platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and delivery of healthcare and PBM products, with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid claims processing, eligibility, formulary management, pricing, and reimbursement..
  • Drive the integration of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and PBM systems, ensuring seamless data exchange, billing accuracy, and compliance with Medicare CMS and HIPAA standards.
  • Oversee the launch of digital platforms and analytics tools, including member benefits portals and predictive claims analytics, to enhance user access, reduce costs, and improve claims accuracy..
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams (developers, business analysts, stakeholders) to define requirements, prioritize backlogs, and deliver features aligned with business goals and evolving regulatory requirements..
  • Track and report on key product KPIs, ROI, and performance metrics, using insights to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage risk, scope, and budget for product initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policy changes, proactively ensuring all products and enhancements remain compliant.
  • Facilitate user feedback sessions, training, and documentation to drive adoption and optimize operational workflows..
  • Understand and interpret analytical models, translating them into specifications for reporting applications that meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise senior leadership on PBM innovation and digital transformation, serving as a subject-matter expert in balancing cost controls, compliance, and member satisfaction..
  • Align accomplishments to PBM Client Reporting OKRs and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Champion change management initiatives in data, business intelligence reporting, or enterprise software environments.
  • Lead cross-functional Agile teams, leveraging Scrum and SAFe methodologies to deliver high-impact solutions on time and within scope.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, project management, or technical leadership roles within healthcare, PBM, or Insurance industries.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and optimizing healthcare technology products, including EMR, EHR, PBM, or Insurance Platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claims processing, eligibility verification, formulary management, and reimbursement workflows.
  • Management experience, with a track record of leading Agile teams and delivering innovative digital health or PBM solutions.
  • Strong business partnership and consultative skills, with a user-centric mindset and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with MicroStrategy and other analytics/reporting tools.
  • Technical acumen in API development, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and data analytics tools (Power BI, Snowflake).
  • Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP, and/or SAFe preferred.

Preferred Experience:
  • CSPO or similar certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated change management experience in data, BI reporting, or enterprise software; CCMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claims processing, eligibility verification, formulary management, and reimbursement workflows.
  • Experience with Epic EMR integration, pharmacy billing systems, and healthcare data migration.
  • Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, digital/mobile application development, and user experience design.
