RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's notable EV Manufacturing client is looking for a Cost Engineer to join their Austin, TX team. This position will be directly responsible for reviewing labor cost from contractors, rate verification, change of role validation, invoices review. Cost Management experience is desirable.
Summary:
The Project Control Team's primary objective is to support the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) group in the design, planning, and execution of company infrastructure by providing management with critical decision-making information that ensures projects deliver on time and on budget. The team does this by closely collaborating with other functional teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adequate definition of scope, cost, and schedule, establishing reasonable baselines, identifying and managing risk, and tracking, monitoring, and reporting project performance. The team can then make valuable recommendations that improve and drive project performance.
Responsibilities:
* Evaluate resources offered by Staff agencies and cross-reference company needs
* Verify rates for each resource and ensure it complies with pre-negotiated agreement
* Review compliance for requests of role change
* Ensure proper documentation to backup any role changes, rate changes & other backup is available for audit traceability
* Review invoices submitted by Staff agencies
* Track and prepare periodic reports to communicate metrics and performance of the work that is being controlled
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, or other relevant areas (with equivalent experience)
* 5-7 years of experience in Change Management, Cost estimating, Cost control and pre-construction services: preferably in industrial, manufacturing, and/or high-tech industries
* Comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods in the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines
* Able to read and comprehend Construction Design Drawings, Specifications, and Construction scopes of work
* Familiar with basic use of Revizto or similar model programs
* Familiar with Construction Job Titles and Descriptions for all disciplines
* Comprehensive understanding of cost estimating process and procedures for multi-billion dollar facilities
* Advanced MS Excel knowledge
* Knowledge of construction schedules
* Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals
* Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
* Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment
* Open-minded, collaborative, and team oriented attitude
* Strong work ethic
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
