Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases in cloud, ensuring optimal performance,
availability, and security.
Perform advanced query tuning and optimization to enhance database performance and
efficiency.
Manage and monitor production Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and disaster
recovery readiness.
Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN and Data
Guard.
Develop and enforce database security policies, access controls, and auditing procedures.
Plan and execute migration of on-premise Oracle databases to Azure Cloud, ensuring data
integrity and minimal downtime.
Provide expert-level support for Oracle 19c and later versions, including patching, upgrades, and
troubleshooting.
(Optional) Leverage knowledge of Oracle 23ai features for future database enhancements and
migrations.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and application performance.
Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent
outages.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Review and provide critical logging aspects of database focusing on DB optimization, error
logging, and ability to enhance performance for DB while on prem and on cloud post migration.
Qualifications
7-8 years of progressive experience as an Oracle DBA.
Strong expertise in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration,
patching, and upgrades.
Proven experience with Oracle 19c and later versions; knowledge of Oracle 23ai is a huge plus.
In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with advanced skills in query tuning and performance
optimization.
Extensive experience with production database management, including high availability (RAC,
Data Guard) and disaster recovery solutions.
Demonstrated experience with Oracle database backup and recovery strategies (RMAN).
Solid understanding and practical experience with database security best practices and
implementation.
Experience in migrating Oracle databases from on-premise environments to Azure Cloud.
Familiarity with cloud database services in Azure (e.g., Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure
SQL Database) is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification. Knowledge of
scripting languages (Shell, Python) for automation
