Role:

Location: New York and Montana

Must be able to travel to new york and Montana two weeks out of the MONTH to Datacenters

managing a team to oversee the electrical infrastructure of data centers, including the design, installation, and maintenance of power distribution systems, UPS, and generators

. This position combines electrical engineering expertise with leadership and management skills, focusing on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of the data center's power systems, while also collaborating with other teams and developing infrastructure improvements.

Key responsibilities

Team and project leadership: Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, setting priorities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring project timelines are met.
Electrical design and implementation: Oversee the design, development, and commissioning of electrical systems from the initial basis of design through to construction documents for new builds and upgrades.
Infrastructure management: Manage, maintain, and optimize all electrical infrastructure, including low- and high-voltage (LV/HV) distribution, switchgear, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and generators.
Technical support and problem-solving: Provide expert technical support for site-level electrical systems and collaborate with other teams to resolve complex issues, investigate problems, and develop mitigation plans.
Compliance and safety: Ensure all electrical systems and operations comply with federal, state, municipal requirements, building codes, and local health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
Collaboration and communication: Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, facilities, procurement) to align on design requirements and collaborate with external partners, including the Engineer of Record (EOR).
Strategic planning: Contribute to long-term planning for high-voltage substations and provide input for capital expense requirements and operational efficiencies.
Process improvement: Develop and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identify process-based improvements that increase operational and financial efficiencies.

Required skills and qualifications

Proven experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on data center electrical systems.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Deep understanding of electrical infrastructure, including AC/DC power distribution, UPS, and generators.
Experience with data center design, construction, and commissioning projects.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different geographic regions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with compliance, safety standards, and building codes.
Proficiency in developing technical documentation and business cases.
