Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
A degree from an accredited college/university in the applicable field is required.
If the degree is not in the applicable field, four (4) additional years of related experience are required.
Required Skills:
Broadcom/Symantec Mail Gateway experience.
Strong technical knowledge of email systems including Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and other platforms.
Proficiency in administering email servers, managing user accounts, distribution lists, and email policies.
Solid understanding of email protocols: SMTP, POP, IMAP.
Familiarity with email security practices such as spam filtering, antivirus protection, and encryption.
Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving email issues.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate email systems.
Excellent communication skills for supporting and guiding users.
Proven ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of IT operations in always-on service environments.
Desired Skills:
Broadcom SMG experience.
Previous experience as an Email Administrator in a corporate environment.
Certifications such as MCSE or similar.
Network and log analytics experience.
Familiarity with application-layer protocols: HTTP, SSH, SSL.
Summary
The Network Connectivity Platform (NCP) Team supports network technologies and infrastructure for always-on systems across 32,000+ sites. The selected resource will work closely with application owners to administer and troubleshoot the Email Gateway Platform, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable network operations through deep expertise in email/SMTP server technologies and network security.
Duties and Responsibilities
Approach:
This individual will be responsible for performing the following activities:
Administer Broadcom/Symantec Messaging Gateway.
Configure, administer, and document custom email policies.
Troubleshoot high-level network and application issues.
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines at all times.
Activities Include:
Email Gateway Configuration:
Configure and maintain email systems, policies, and traffic filtering/monitoring rules.Security Management:
Manage gateway security, identify threats (phishing, spam, malware), and mitigate risks.Capacity Planning and Optimization:
Monitor email traffic, identify bottlenecks, and optimize gateway infrastructure.Technical Support:
Provide technical support to users and IT staff; troubleshoot delivery and performance issues.Analytics and Monitoring:
Perform regular logging, monitoring, and reporting to track email traffic, performance, and availability to meet SLAs
