Job Details

Role: Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Summit, NJ (onsite) Locals only

Duration: 6-12+ Months

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the design, deployment, and management of Kubernetes platforms (AKS, EKS, GKE, or OpenShift) to support highly available, scalable, and secure workloads.
  2. Define and implement cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or similar IaC/GitOps tools.
  3. Drive best practices for observability and monitoring, integrating tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch.
  4. Partner with application and product teams to enable cloud-native architectures and accelerate delivery pipelines.
  5. Establish and enforce infrastructure reliability, performance, and security standards across environments.
  6. Mentor engineers in Kubernetes operations, automation practices, and observability frameworks.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business and compliance requirements.
  8. Evaluate and introduce new platform engineering tools and observability solutions to optimize workflows.

Must-Have Qualifications

  1. Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. 10+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 3+ years of Kubernetes platform engineering experience.
  3. Proficiency in either [Java / Python / Node.js / Go / C++ or relevant stack].
  4. Deep expertise in Kubernetes cluster operations (scaling, upgrades, RBAC, networking, ingress/egress, security).
  5. Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  6. Proven skills in automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation).
  7. Solid experience in observability engineering (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
  8. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and GitOps methodologies.
  9. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  1. Open-source contributions or technical blog posts.
  2. Experience in leading multi-team engineering efforts.
  3. Prior experience in a startup or high-growth tech environment.
