Data Engineer (hybrid)
Salt Lake City (hybrid)
6-month contract
Pay: $65 - $75/hr

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Data Engineer to help build out a new data warehouse. This engineer understands collaboration and attention to detail as well as data visualization and has experience within the insurance industry. This is a fast-paced working environment, and embraces change to keep up with industry trends and technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the internal company community by offering guidance on data governance, facilitating training, and encouraging collaboration across teams.
  • Use critical thinking and creative approaches to design new data warehousing.
  • Design and create large data warehousing.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies to explore innovative ways to enhance analytics, automation, and enterprise decision-making.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (data science or statistics). More than 5 years of experience if no degree.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience; insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Pyspark
  • Python
  • Fabric - data governance, notifications, optimization (we want a unicorn who is amazing at Fabric)
  • Very strong SQL experience
  • Building facts and dims in a data warehouse (Kimball/dimensional/star schema experience)
  • Any insurance data experience is a huge plus
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong problem-solving abilities.
