Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled IBM Mainframe Developer with strong experience in COBOL, DB2, and CICS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level applications on the IBM mainframe platform, ensuring high levels of performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe-based applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Debug and troubleshoot existing applications to resolve issues or enhance functionality.

  • Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to interact with DB2 databases.

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Conduct unit and system testing for new applications or changes.

  • Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

  • Create and maintain documentation for developed programs and procedures.

  • Provide production support and resolve system issues as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming.

  • Strong experience with DB2, including writing and tuning SQL queries.

  • Good knowledge of CICS for online transaction processing.

  • Proficiency with JCL (Job Control Language).

  • Experience with debugging tools like Expeditor, File-AID, or Abend-AID.

  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
