OVERVIEW

The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the success of Juno Health's products by overseeing the execution of quality assurance strategies and managing a team of QA professionals. This position is responsible for validating the effective delivery of QA objectives, maintaining an up-to-date hardware certification process, and ensuring consistent alignment of departmental roles, responsibilities, and compensation with corporate standards. The CQO also ensures that QA processes and documentation evolve with the organization's software and operational advancements. By driving quality, efficiency, and compliance across all testing efforts, the CQO supports Juno Health's mission to deliver high-performing healthcare technology solutions that meet clinical needs and exceed industry standards.

The Chief Quality Officer will

Quality Assurance Leadership
  • Ensure consistent, demonstrable adherence to Juno Health's QA processes, including:
    • Manual Testing
    • Automated Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Compliance Testing
    • Performance Testing
  • Collaborate with QA management and staff to continuously evolve and improve QA processes.
  • Ensure all QA personnel are equipped with the necessary training and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor QA department output (quality, quantity, and speed) to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure the QA Processes and Procedures document is routinely updated to reflect current tools, software, and workflows.

Department Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and performance of QA staff.
  • Align QA department salaries and job descriptions with established grade levels and corporate expectations.
  • Identify and communicate QA staffing needs to management.
  • Manage verification of product functionality and testing coverage across all assigned product lines.

Product Testing Oversight
  • Provide oversight for the development and maintenance of testing scripts that validate program functionality.
  • Ensure program modifications function as intended without impacting existing features.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of Jira tickets/bug reports for issues identified during QA testing or reported by other departments.
  • Assist in the review and revision of QA-related process documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of:
    • Industry trends in eHR systems
    • Regulatory requirements
    • Legal implications and meaningful use standards

Cross-Departmental & External Collaboration
  • Maintain effective communication with other Juno Health departments: Development, Operations, Sales, Training, Legal, Support, and IT.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to evaluate timelines and resource requirements.
  • Support RFI/RFP pricing and project scoping.
  • Review customer and partner contracts with executive leadership to identify QA-related obligations.
  • Coordinate product and project status meetings with internal teams and clients.

Client Engagement & Support
  • Manage coordination with DSS clients for QA support and product testing assistance.
  • Oversee scheduling and facilitation of conference calls to discuss status updates, issue resolution, and enhancements.

Internal Coordination
  • Lead or coordinate meetings with Product/Project Management, Development, and Support teams to address product issues and enhancements.
  • Oversee the resolution verification process for help desk tickets.
  • Facilitate internal reviews of product updates/enhancements with Sales, Training, and Customer Support.


SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Individuals working for Juno Health will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Extensive experience in a Quality Assurance environment, with a proven track record in managing and testing software products/modules.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare IT systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices within a structured software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare and messaging standards, including:
  • ICD-9/ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, NDC, CPT
  • HL7, FHIR, and C-CDA
  • Experience implementing EHR systems in ambulatory, acute, or behavioral health settings.
  • Familiarity with Clinical Decision Support system design, development, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; highly detail-oriented.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across departments and with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision and accountability.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience, including team development and performance oversight.
  • Ability to assess complex situations, determine impact, and implement appropriate solutions.


Education:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems)

Desired:
  • Master's degree in related discipline
  • Additional relevant training or continuing education

Certification:

Desired:
  • Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), or ISTQB certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

Years of experience in a similar role:

Required:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role, preferably in the healthcare or health IT sector

Preferred:
  • 15+ years of experience in similar roles, with direct involvement in enterprise healthcare software solutions
