Job Details

Position Overview:
A respected engineering consultancy, is seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in water and sewer infrastructure to join their growing team in Cincinnati. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to advance their career, working alongside a team of seasoned professionals on a variety of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will perform technical assignments involving system design, field evaluations, and preparation of detailed plans and specifications. This role also offers the potential to grow into a leadership position overseeing water and sewer master planning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage projects related to water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems.

  • Develop detailed plans, contract specifications, and project documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, CAD Modelers, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Conduct field work and site evaluations (occasional travel required).

  • Recommend equipment, materials, and technical solutions based on project needs.

  • Prepare technical reports and proposals for municipal infrastructure improvements.

  • Support master planning efforts for water and sewer systems, with potential to take on leadership roles in this area over time.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability and willingness to obtain licensure.

  • 4-10 years of professional experience in civil infrastructure design.

  • Proven experience in water distribution and wastewater collection system design (primary requirement).

  • Additional experience in stormwater design, pump stations, water towers, or related infrastructure is a strong asset.

  • Exposure to master planning projects is desirable and offers future growth potential.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Solid technical knowledge of municipal water, sewer, and stormwater systems.

  • Ability to develop detailed plans and specifications in coordination with design teams.

  • Strong communication skills for report writing, client interactions, and team collaboration.

  • Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and best practices.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple project assignments.
