We are looking for a Senior Research & Development Engineer who will be responsible for interpreting and communicating regulatory requirements to ensure product adherence to necessary industry standards required for certification. You will be directly involved in coordinating the activities of multiple approval agencies. Primary responsibilities will include
- Ensure product assessments meet certification and regulatory standards
- Supervise/Mentor other engineers through varying degrees of project complexity and scope
- Communicate certification requirements across teams
- Interface with certification bodies to maintain product approvals
- Review design changes for compliance with product certificates
- Cooperate with development teams to ensure designs meet regulatory standards
- Assist with audits and approval status reporting
Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education
- Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent, working with approval agencies (i.e. FM, UL, CSA)
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards and certification processes
- Experience with:
- Technical report writing
- Electrical testing and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial machinery regulations
- Robotics and automation systems
- Knowledge of standards and approval requirements (domestic and international)
- Experience with electrical testing and test equipment
