Description
Position Description:
The System Architect - End User Computing (EUC) is responsible for designing and implementing end-user computing solutions that provide secure, efficient, and reliable access to application services and data. This role will collaborate with various technical and business stakeholders to ensure that the EUC infrastructure aligns with organization's needs while incorporating the latest technological advancements to enable new organizational capabilities. This role will maintain awareness of current industry trends, product development lifecycles, and vendor best practices to incorporate this knowledge into solution designs. The system architect needs to have an excellent understanding of our client's technology portfolio, business functions, and operational processes. This ensures that EUC technology portfolio can effectively support our client's daily activities and help realize its business objectives.
As part of their duties, the system architect will lead the planning, design, and deployment of desktop solutions, Chromebook and tablet platforms, mobile device management (MDM), asset management, and other supporting technologies. They will guide the project level solution design and ensure that our client's enterprise standards are regularly updated and effectively applied. When exceptions occur, the System Architect will work with business and technology stakeholders to develop suitable workarounds and create mitigation plans to address any identified gaps. They will create relevant support documentation and transition critical knowledge need to sustain production solutions. The System Architect will build and maintain deep working relationships with the technical teams to evaluate how the production solutions are performing and identify opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive EUC strategies and architectures
Design scalable and secure end-user computing environments, including desktop virtualization, remote access solutions, management platforms, and mobile device management
Architect end-user solutions using Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Create architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications in support of architectural review process
Acts as an advocate for improving the user experience through optimization of existing solutions and driving innovation
Lead the deployment of EUC solutions by coordinating internally and across teams to ensure minimal disruption to end users
Oversee the configuration and integration of hardware, OS, VDI, MDM, asset management, and other EUC management technologies
Ensure compliance with internal security policies and standards as well as industry and vendor best practices
Work closely with IT teams, business units, and external vendors to understand requirements and deliver appropriate EUC solutions
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) by providing technical guidance and support to project teams and end users
Effectively Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders
Monitor the performance and usage of EUC systems to identify opportunities for improvement
Establish and maintain communication channels for user feedback as part of the continuous improvement process
Implement best practices for system optimization, patch management, and upgrades
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to end-user computing environments
Provide escalation support and guidance for critical incidents and service outages
Ensure EUC solutions comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements
Implement and manage endpoint security measures, including antivirus, encryption, and data loss prevention
Conduct regular security assessments and audits of EUC environments
Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in end-user computing
Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and practices to enhance the EUC infrastructure
Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to explore new EUC solutions
Lead and supervise the End User Computing Engineers
Provides expert knowledge and guidance to define End User Computing vision, strategy, and operational procedures
Executes Performance Management process, addressing performance and/or policy issues in a timely manner
Provides regular and consistent status updates to leadership on team assignments and escalates any concerns or issues
Supports project initiatives including, but not limited to, identifying and analyzing business needs, assessing the general test strategy and scope, and time and resource estimates
Works effectively in a collaborative environment and fosters teamwork across all levels of the organization
Provide thought leadership on End User l concepts, processes, procedures, and standards across technology stakeholders to foster their adoption
Facilitate discussion and understanding of End User Computing best practices across the organizatio
Mentor team members and conduct knowledge sharing sessions to grow the skillsets and capabilities of the department
Assess emerging technologies to understand how and where they can add value to meeting End User Computing needs Continually work to enhance breadth and depth of knowledge and experience.
Identifies and anticipates trends and investigates organizational objectives and needs.

Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major or 10+ years of technology business experience
7+ years of demonstrated leadership in the design and deployment of endpoint device management technologies, hardware builds and configurations, software management platforms, OS distribution and migrations, software distribution, and collaboration tools
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365
Strong understanding of mobile device management (MDM) technologies for Android, iOS, and Chromebook devices
Experience managing cloud-based EUC solutions and hybrid environments
Practical understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and an ability to work with Agile and Waterfall project teams to delivery high quality solutions
Demonstrated ability to use automation and scripting tools to accomplish deployment tasks
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as HITRUST, CSF, NIST, OWASP, etc.
Ability to communicate complex ideas and influence others in a tactful and diplomatic manner
Strong analytical problem solver with attention to detail
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to be "Lead by example" in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative matrix environment
Proficiency in the English language is required
