Technical Marketing Specialist (Government Solutions)
NIS is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Marketing Specialist to bridge the gap between our cutting-edge technical solutions and compelling marketing content. This role is critical in translating complex technical concepts into clear, impactful messaging and visuals that resonate with government clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of government procurement environments, contracting processes, and marketing best practices tailored to the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Development & Marketing Collateral
- Translate technical solutions, services, and capabilities into clear, persuasive marketing artifacts such as slick sheets, white papers, capability statements, case studies, presentations, one-pagers, infographics, and datasheets.
- Design visually engaging graphics and layouts that enhance technical messaging and support brand consistency.
- Develop proposal content, targeted messaging, and thought leadership pieces that align with government procurement requirements.
- Ensure all marketing materials written and visual meet brand guidelines and effectively communicate value to government audiences.
- Develop and review content on official government submissions, such as proposals, to include persuasive aspects.
Campaigns & Outreach
- Develop NIS marketing campaigns targeting government agencies with clear messaging and engaging visuals.
- Determine and enact marketing campaigns to promote NIS capabilities and solutions. This includes direct marketing, LinkedIn & related platforms, and other communication mechanisms.
- Create compelling graphics for email campaigns, digital ads, and social media content tailored to government buyers and decision-makers.
- Coordinate with business development and capture teams to align messaging and visual materials with active pursuits.
- Assist in coordinating webinars, trade shows, and industry events including the development of visual assets and event materials.
Research & Strategy
- Stay up to date on government contracting trends, RFP/RFI language, and agency-specific needs to refine messaging and visual approach.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for positioning and competitive differentiation.
- Contribute to Business Development plans that support pipeline growth in the government sector.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, English, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, technical writing, content development, and graphic design.
- Proven ability to translate technical jargon into clear, audience-appropriate content and visuals.
- Strong proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and/or other graphic design software.
- Familiarity with government contracting processes (federal, state, or local).
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience in marketing IT services, cybersecurity, data solutions, or similar technical offerings.
- Experience developing content and graphics for government proposals (RFP/RFI support).
- Familiarity with GSA schedules, GWACs, or other contract vehicles.
- Experience creating infographics, diagrams, and visual aids that communicate complex technical solutions.
