Project Description

Team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle DBA with expertise in Oracle GoldenGate to support and enhance their mission-critical database environments. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in high-availability, performance-sensitive environments and is comfortable collaborating across development, application support, and infrastructure teams.

Duties/Day to Day Overview

  • Support, administer and maintain production and non-production database environments primarily running on the AIX platform
  • Disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Implement and maintain proactive database monitoring for space issues, database locking, performance issues, and other key metrics
  • Work with the development and application support teams to identify, triage and resolve performance issues using diagnostic tools such as AWR, ADDM, etc.
  • Analyze, optimize and tune advanced complex SQL queries and their associated execution plans using command line tools
  • Deploy and maintain high availability and failover technologies such as Data Guard and Real Application Clusters to maximize database availability
  • Create, clone and upgrade environments to support implementation activities as required
  • Define, implement and support Backup and Recovery policies using RMAN and / or storage level replication technologies

Top Requirements (Must haves)

  • 8 + years of Oracle DBA experience in a production environment working with Oracle 11g and above
  • Proven experience managing Oracle Real Application Clusters
  • Experience supporting mission critical 24x7 e-Commerce and ERP systems
  • Excellent UNIX / Linux shell scripting skills
  • Proven experience in tuning databases / queries
  • Experience with security monitoring and encryption tools
  • Exposure to Oracle Retail (RMS), Sterling, and e-Commerce platforms.
  • Experience working closely with application teams to implement and support database-backed applications.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools such as OEM and custom scripts (e.g., NuSoft).
