Overview
The Lead Business Analyst is a strategic, people-centric role responsible for enhancing the quality, consistency, and impact of the Business Analysis function. This position blends mentorship, analytical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-value solutions across the enterprise.
You will lead a team of 8 10 Business Analysts, define BA standards, and ensure high-quality requirements, efficient processes, and effective communication between business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis Standards & Requirements
Establish, promote, and maintain consistent BA methodologies, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure high-quality artifacts such as BRDs, RTMs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data requirements.
  • Oversee requirement validation to ensure alignment with business and technical needs.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on BA deliverables to minimize rework and improve solution quality.
  • Ensure timely completion of BA artifacts to support project milestones.
  • Promote robust testing approaches covering functional, non-functional, and data requirements.

2. Collaboration, Facilitation & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Build strong partnerships across business units, IT teams, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and cross-functional discussions to drive decisions.
  • Support change management efforts through proactive and consistent communication.
  • Partner with product owners, project managers, and leadership to prioritize requirements, mitigate risks, and maintain project momentum.

3. Communication & Presentation

  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and actionable documentation.
  • Tailor communication for executives, technical teams, and end users.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and updates to senior leadership with confidence.
  • Produce high-quality, structured, and accurate documentation.

4. Team Leadership, Coaching & Continuous Improvement

  • Mentor and support Business Analysts to strengthen skills and analytical capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced team performance.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to BA practices and methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment with leadership and team members before introducing practice changes.
  • Remove roadblocks, provide direction, and actively address risks affecting BA effectiveness.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and commitment to quality.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of Business Analyst experience, including 3+ years mentoring or leading analysts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong expertise in requirement elicitation, documentation, and process modeling
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban)
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience working with enterprise systems or multi-module applications
  • Proficiency in BA and ALM tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.
